Metro State students, this is your chance to be part of something amazing, something we have never done before at Metro! 

The Haute Dish Anthology 2026 is a professionally published book celebrating the voices of resilience. We want your best poetry, fiction, and memoir that capture strength, vulnerability, and the human spirit. 

Follow the rules, polish your work, and do not include your name anywhere on the document you are uploading

Submissions that do not adhere to guidelines will be immediately disqualified. Share your voice and make it shine.

Submission Guidelines

Who Can Submit: Metro State students and alumni

Piece Limits per Author:

  •  Poetry: up to 4 pieces, maximum 40 lines each
     
  •  Fiction: up to 2 pieces, maximum 2,000 words each
     
  •  Memoir: up to 2 pieces, maximum 2,000 words each
     

File Requirements:

  •  Word (.doc/.docx) or PDF
     
  •  Double-spaced, 12-point font recommended
     
  •  Include a title page with title onlydo not include your name anywhere on the manuscript
     
  •  Pieces must be polished, clean, and submission-ready
     

Author Bio:
Include a short, third-person bio (max 150 words) with your submission. Proofreading and polishing help is available through the Writing Center.

Cover Letter is REQUIRED for alumni:

Please indicate your alumni status in the cover letter along with your graduation year!

Important Rules

  • Do not include your name anywhere on your work. Any submission with a name visible will be immediately disqualified!
     
  • Only previously unpublished work will be considered.
     
  • Follow the word and line limits carefully. Pieces that exceed limits will be disqualified!
     
  • Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but notify us immediately if accepted elsewhere!
     

Rights

By submitting, you grant Haute Dish non-exclusive rights to publish your work in this anthology, in print and electronic formats.
